Our History

The Halton Centre for Child Care has operated as a licensed non-profit organization since it was established in 1991. Our Centre is governed by a Board of Directors. Our panel of Board members is comprised of professional, community and parent volunteers. Daily operations are managed by our Executive Director, Cathy McLaughlin who has been with the Centre since 1992. Cathy’s long-term tenure is the foundation to the growth, maturity and success of the Halton Centre for Child Care. It’s proximity to the Bronte Go Station and QEW makes our Centre both convenient and accessible.

The Halton Centre for Child Care has a long time affiliation with Sheridan College. Working with College faculty in the education and growth of Early Childhood Education students the Halton Centre regularly welcomes placement students into our program.

Committed to being the best we can be, the Halton Centre for Child Care is a proud partner in Quality First.

“Centres that are a part of the Quality First initiative in Halton are committed to providing quality care for their children and families” Mary Beth Jonz Director, Children’s Services, Halton Region

Our Philosophy

We believe that each child is a unique human being influenced by the values, customs and behavior of his/her family, peer group, teachers and society. We facilitate a child-based emergent curriculum that believes each child has the prerogative to grow and develop in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.

We build trust and confidence while establishing the necessary foundations for positive self-esteem and lifelong learning.

" We have had a fantastic experience with HCCC. Our son loves the place. With a whole lot of changes going on in his life, the HCCC has remained a constant. It was important to us that he stay there with his teachers and friends. He loves it there so much that he cries when I pick him up because he doesn't want to leave. The activities are fantastic - Dash Sports, Week of the Child, Field Trips, Safety Village, Halloween Parade and more."
- Jorden B

" We've always felt fortunate to have our kids attend a daycare as welcoming, friendly and thoughtful as the HCCC. After first sending our daughter to HCCC 6 years ago, our son has had many of the same teachers she did, which speaks to the quality of the staff and how much they enjoy working at HCCC. The curriculum is interesting and stimulating and the rotating menus offer nutritious food that gently encourages the kids to expand their palates. We have without hesitation recommended the HCCC to friends and neighbours who are seeking daycare for their children."
- Peter L

" We feel peace of mind sending our daughter to HCCC. To us it is not a centre – it is a family. We know she is receiving the best care out there."
- Wendy D
